Diana F+ silver ring (made by me)

Finally I can show you my latest project: meet the Diana F+ ring! With some projects you walk around in your head but they never really take off. This was one of them. Thanks to a request from a customer (and a clear deadline) I managed to finish this. I’ve always been a big fan of the lomography cameras. But the Diana F+ is definitely a classic. The hardest part was to get all the details right. Because the original Diana has different textures on it, I used different sandpapers to get a similar result with silver. The creation itself is hollow and the little star on the flash came as special request. Cameras are kind of my specialty right now. The great thing about creating silver cameras is that the end result really pays off. The details are really what makes the shape of camera unique.

Michael Berger

Back in the 1960’s, Friedrich Becker became the first metal smith to come up with the concept of kinetic jewelry. He was also mentor to German based metal smith Michael Berger whose contemporary style ring is shown above. Unlike the other creations which require you to move them, these unique kinetic jewelry pieces move independently!

Lomo-Cam Phase 3

Even though it’s still work in process, I’d like to give you a quick update on my latest project: LOMO. It’s a silver pendant inspired by the famous Lomography camera.  What you see on the photo is basically a construction kit containing small silver parts that I made by hand. It’s quite a tricky job, because the sequence is pretty important. A constant battle of molding, compiling and checking if things connect well. Although it’s the second camera it’s still a big challenge.  I took the Lomography camera as an example and found out that it’s quite a complicated construction. I’m open for thoughts, ideas and brainfarts. I will keep you posted!

My Lomo-Cam (progress)

So this is a picture of the status of the Lomo-Cam now. After having determined the correct dimensions for the pendant, I first made a rash as to make an exact fit. The rest is a secret.

My Lomo-Cam

I want to create a Lomo-Cam inspired by the Lomography camera Diana. So I started to make a scetch and added the dimensions in cm.
